Theatre playbills - a little known but fascinating collection of playbills from Leeds and Yorkshire theatres from the early 18th century up to the middle of the 20th century. Remember Pablo Fanques from The Beatles song, 'For the Benefit of Mr. Kite'? Well, he was a real person, and features on at least one of our old playbills. The City Varieties is famous for 'The Good Old Days', but was also well-known for showing risqué strip-tease acts in the fifties and sixties.
